How the OGPO VTS price is calculated
The price of compulsory motor third-party liability insurance is set by law. Annual premium = base premium of 1.9 MCI × coefficients (Article 19 of Law No. 446 of 1 July 2003).
Coefficients
Registration territory
From 1.00 (Zhambyl Region) to 2.96 (Almaty). Other towns and settlements of the regions — an extra 0.8. Temporary entry — 4.4.
Vehicle type
Cars — 2.09, buses — 3.26 and 3.45, trucks — 3.98, trolleybuses and trams — 2.33, motorcycles and trailers — 1.00.
Age and experience
From 1.00 to 1.10. For legal entities — 1.2.
Vehicle age and bonus-malus
Vehicles older than 7 years — 1.10. Bonus-malus class — from 0.50 (class 13) to 3.50 (class M2); first contract — class 3 with a 20% surcharge.
A correction coefficient published by the regulator applies to the territory coefficient, and the insurer may change it by up to 10%, so the final price may differ slightly from the estimate.
